Act – Belong – Commit

Do more of what makes you happy!

The ABCs of Mental Health project

Mental health is a growing concern, and now more than ever, prevention is key. Building on the successful model originated in Western Australia, the ABCs of Mental Health project supports individuals and communities to improve their well-being through simple, everyday actions.

Act, belong, commit- just that and yet so much.

What ABC is all about?

Being active (not just physically), staying connected to others, and engaging in meaningful activities boost happiness, well-being, and life satisfaction. They also lower the risk of developing mental health conditions such as anxiety or depression.

  • Act - do something! Be active – mentally, socially, physically, spiritually… Go for a walk, say, listen to music or practice mindfulness.
  • Belong - do something with someone Connect with your friends and family, join a sport team, be part of your community, sign up for group lessons.
  • Commit - do something meaningful Stay committed – do something that brings meaning to your life - take on a new challenge, help others, learn something new.
